The comfortable living room leads to a very large, contemporary, open plan kitchen dining room which has a second seating area - an L-shaped leather settee. French doors lead to the small private garden with a table, chairs and a BBQ. In the kitchen you will find a dishwasher, a large range cooker, a washer/dryer and all the kitchen equipment you may need during your stay. Guests tell us we have thought of everything and they find it 'a real home from home'.
Sitting Area - Kitchen/Dining Room
Guests' reviews confirm our cottage has very comfortable beds, is well equipped, nicely decorated, and is clean and well cared for. The three bedrooms, (one with a king size bed, one twin bedded room, and one single room), all have black-out blinds and are attractively furnished. Towels and quality bed linen are provided.
For our younger guests we have a travel cot (bedding not supplied), stair gate, bed safety rail, nappy changing mat, potty chair, a child's toilet seat and a step stool. There are also children's cutlery, crockery and a small selection of toys, books and games.
Our house faces onto the attractive Amble town square and at the rear it looks out onto a small green hill. Parking is on-street but our neighbours will always try to leave a space outside our house. There is additional parking all the way down on the other side of the road.
Our weekly bookings commence at 5pm on Fridays. Outside school holidays we can offer short breaks from Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday. It is a no smoking cottage and sorry, but we don't take pets.
The House from the Town Square
Harbour Holm is an ideal base for walking, cycling and for exploring the many beautiful beaches, castles, gardens and nature reserves of the area. After an enjoyable day you will find good restaurants and shops a short walk from the house.
Fishing Boats at the Harbour
Pier and Little Shore
Pod in Harbour Village
Amble itself has a lot to offer guests. The town has interesting small shops. From the harbour you could take a Puffin Cruise around Coquet Island or watch the fishing boats off-loading their catch. You could take a walk along the Pier and the Little Shore beach or visit the new Seafood Centre with its lobster hatchery. It is hard to resist the award-winning Spurreli's ice cream parlour at the bottom of our road or the interesting shopping pods of Amble Harbour Village. A walk across The Braid to the nearby Marina is worthwhile too and you can continue to Warkworth. You can walk in the opposite direction across the sand dunes to the Hauxley Nature Reserve.
Puffins on the Farne Islands
The area gives access to 20 miles of magnificent Heritage coastline and has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Harbour Holm is a wonderful base for your holiday.
